The Council on the Future of Vermont asked hundreds of Vermonters about their values and concerns and that's what they said."

Researchers at the University of Vermont released a survey Monday showing many residents share a common vision of their state.

A new poll confirms some long-held assumptions about Vermonters.

"For over a year, the Council on the Future of Vermont has been going around the state listening to Vermonters and striking up a dialogue on where we are, where we are going and the forces that will shape out future."

"Vermonters prize independence, community and a working landscape and the most important challenges facing them are affordability and the economy."

The Council on the Future of Vermont will be in Brattleboro to ask Windham County residents how they feel about where the state is now and where it is heading.
