e-Vermont Community: Middlesex
e-Vermont initiatives in Middlesex were spearheaded by the Town Meeting Solutions Committee in conjunction with the Rumney School, town government, and other organizations. In one short year, the team delivered:
- 46 netbook packages to ensure that every Rumney School student in grades 5 and 6 receives a 21st century education;
- A free Front Porch Forum community e-newsletter that 562 subscribers in town used more than 2000 times to buy and trade household goods, promote local events and volunteer needs, recommend local businesses, and much more;
- Public access hot spots for Middlesex residents who lack computer equipment, Internet access, or comfort navigating the web;
- Many other accomplishments - read more about Middlesex specifically in the Middlesex e-Vermont Year Re-cap (pdf) or about e-Vermont partners' work across all communities in e-Vermont Services.
