e-Vermont Community: Grand Isle
e-Vermont initiatives in Grand Isle County were spearheaded by the Lake Champlain Islands Chamber of Commerce and a group of interested citizens representing town government, local businesses, non-profits, libraries and schools. In one short year, the team succeeded in bringing the following accomplishments to Grand Isle County:
- 38 netbook packages to ensure that every Folsom Educational Center School student in grades 4-6 receives a 21st century education;
- Several well-attended business-focused workshops and several one-on-one business broadband advising sessions for Islands’ entrepreneurs;
- Development (still in progress) of a revamped South Hero Municipal Website using the Snelling Center for Government web template;
- Many other accomplishments – read more about Grand Isle County specifically in the Grand Isle County Re-Cap (pdf) or about e-Vermont partners' work across all communities in e-Vermont Services.
