e-Vermont Community: Bristol
e-Vermont Initiatives in Bristol were spearheaded by a small, but very productive team representing town government, local businesses, library, non-profits, schools, and public access television. In one short year, this team succeeded in bringing the following accomplishments to Bristol:
- A Free Front Porch Forum community e-newsletter that 952 subscribers used more than 3500 times to buy and trade household goods, promote local events, recommend local businesses and much more;
- Computer hardware to enable public access station NEATV to produce multi-media content for both cable TV and Internet subscribers;
- A free, public access WiFi zone in downtown Bristol - a collaboration between the Lawrence Memorial Library, Bristol Downtown Community Partnership, local businesses and town government – that provides access to the Internet as well as promotion for the community;
- Many other accomplishments – read more about Bristol specifically in the Bristol Re-Cap (pdf) or about e-Vermont partners' work across all communities in e-Vermont Services.
