Round 2 Application Available
Applications are now available for communities interested in participating in the e-Vermont Community Broadband Project. Selected towns will receive a range of free tools and services from the e-Vermont partners to help them optimize their use of high speed Internet to accomplish a variety of local goals. Our recent press release describes these resources.
We've made the 2011-2012 application as simple as possible, with just three questions to answer and three letters of support to collect.
While the work of writing the application shouldn't take a lot of time, it's important to plan ahead to build community support for the idea of participating in e-Vermont. We ask each applicant to show the commitment of a variety of local leaders, including from schools, town government, the business community and (where appropriate) the public library. We also ask that each group applying think about what their community needs most to make best use of high speed Internet - we only have one year to get a lot done in each town, and we want to hit the ground running!
So, start planning now for applications due on November 17th! (Work begins in January, 2011)
